Our Vision

The platform for modern law firms

The founders of MaraDocs — Martin Kurtz and Raui Ghazaleh

Law firms are under pressure — and reinventing themselves

The volume of matters is rising. Qualified staff are becoming scarcer. Clients expect the same speed of response they are used to in every other area of their lives. At the same time, we live in an era where automation, AI and low-code tools are becoming mainstream — including in the legal profession.

We believe: the law firm of the future will not be defined by a single, isolated software monolith that covers a lot but is also inflexible and rigid. Firms need a smartly combined selection of individual building blocks for document processing, matter intake and client acquisition: software that fits together and, above all, connects seamlessly and easily — giving the firm full control over its processes.

That's exactly what we're building MaraDocs for. Flexible, seamlessly integrable, open.

What we're building

MaraDocs is a platform that grew out of two tasks that arise daily in every law firm: accepting matters and managing documents. Both sound simple.

In reality, both are a bottleneck — between email attachments, photographed documents, media breaks and manual rework, firms lose hours every day.

That's why in 2024 we started with the MaraDocs Workspace (previously simply "MaraDocs") and gave law firms a unique tool: crookedly photographed documents become cleanly prepared PDFs in seconds. That's real relief in day-to-day secretarial work.

Today we think bigger: MaraDocs is a platform with building blocks spanning the entire firm workflow chain — from the first touchpoint with a potential client to the structured file.

Client Acquisition & Matter Intake

  • MaraDocs Portal

The modern handover point for documents and information between client and firm. Old PDF forms without real form fields — as found in almost every firm's template folders — become digital, fillable, mobile-signable forms in just a few clicks. Firms can provide these either through their own portal or embed them directly into their website. Because all fields can be parameterised and pre-filled via URL, the portal fits seamlessly into automated workflows with tools like Lexemo, Zapier or n8n.

  • MaraDocs Insights

With MaraDocs Insights, we give law firms a website analytics tool that clearly and simply shows what is happening on the firm's website, which content resonates with visitors and where it's worth investing.

Document Processing

  • MaraDocs Workspace

This is where it all began: the Workspace contains all the tools to turn chaotic, crookedly photographed documents in email attachments into clean, searchable PDFs within seconds — ready for optimal processing by the firm.

  • MaraMail

MaraMail is a smart email integration that fits seamlessly into existing email workflows, enabling real time savings when handling files and documents via email.

  • MaraDocs FolderSync

The bridge between MaraDocs and the firm's folder structure. Directly connected to MaraDocs' modern processing pipeline.

  • MaraDocs API

For developers. But also for no-/low-code automators. The best of MaraDocs, embedded directly into your firm's systems and workflows.

Each building block stands on its own. Together, they form an infrastructure that grows with the firm.

What sets us apart

We build infrastructure, not legal AI.

There are excellent providers for legal research, AI-powered brief analysis and specialised contract cases. We deliberately leave that discipline to others. We focus on the operational layer beneath: documents, interfaces, matter intake. Where AI appears in our products, it serves smart optimisation for more efficient workflows — not legal assessment.

We build modular, not monolithic.

Software should follow the firm's structure, not the other way around. A good client portal communicates via interfaces both on the inbound and outbound side. We respect the individuality of firms and workflows and offer highly flexible, easy-to-use tools. Our building blocks integrate into existing systems — whether via the first-class API, MaraMail, FolderSync or our fully configurable client portal.

We build for a realistic budget.

Process optimisation shouldn't be limited by a firm's budget. We think about pricing and effort realistically — so that small and mid-sized firms benefit directly. With building blocks that immediately address bottlenecks, we create a tangible advantage for every firm.

Why we do this

We started out to modernise the processes in our own firm.

As a self-employed traffic law attorney and software developer, founder Martin Kurtz knows the pain that comes with the stack of documents sitting in the inbox each morning — photographed, rotated, split, often illegible. Co-founder Raui Ghazaleh is an industrial engineer and software developer. He knows how to systematically resolve such bottlenecks. As an experienced developer, he builds modular software with state-of-the-art interfaces.

Then we recognised that other firms had the same need.

From this combination — legal practice and technical expertise — Maramia GmbH was founded in 2024. Since then, we have been continuously developing our product MaraDocs, closely aligned with the feedback of our clients and partner firms.

With our headquarters in Germany, our primary market is the DACH region. At the same time, we are expanding into further European countries. Clients trust us because we build smart tools with a clear focus on data privacy, tailored to the reality of European law firms.

Where we're headed

We want law firms to be able to offer an outstanding service to clients while saving time through effective workflows. We achieve this by making the technical achievements of the internet and AI age directly usable for law firms: smart tools, flexibly and individually combinable, seamlessly integrable through open interfaces.

We continue to develop MaraDocs. Building block by building block. Together with you.
